International relocation experts, Crown Worldwide, tasked us with the interior design of their new 20,000 sq. ft. headquarters building. Early on in the project we identified the importance of the restaurant as a key area for building and maintaining staff loyalty and morale. Our challenge was to inject life and energy into the staff canteen within the confines of a budget and levels of specification that had already been set by the building developer. We studied the developers spec carefully to ensure that the materials and finishes that we chose would create a distinctive interior within the constraints of their costings and timescales. We wanted to design a breakout space where staff could relax and take timeout from their workplace and the industrial park surrounding it. The design had to be easy to apply, yet effective. Our solution included a custom wallpaper created from large format images of meadows and blue sky that offered vistas for the imagination. The result is a unique space that gives employees an opportunity to relax so that they can return to work refreshed and revitalised. You can find out more about other aspects of the project in our Crown Worldwide HQ design case study. |
